The pilgrims came in 1639 and settled the area, and in 1797 Trumbull was incorporated as a town. Named after Governor Johnathan Trumbull, a Revolutionary War hero, Trumbull flourished as an agricultural community. The town grew quickly over time into a bustling suburban area, but to this day it has managed to keep that coveted New England colonial charm.
Today, Trumbull is a thriving residential community with a healthy mix of retail and commercial activity. Its proximity to New York City makes it a highly desirable location to live.
